Arif 'Badshah' Khan: The Great Khali of J&K likely to become India's next big entry in WWE

Jammu and Kashmir's Arif Khan is likely to become India's new entry in the WWE roster. The 23-year-old has been training under former WWE star, The Great Khali, who refers Arif as "Badshah Khan". The 6-ft wrestler hails from a small village called Neel, situated in J&K's Ramban district. Renowned as Jammu's Khali, Arif is currently training in an academy in Jalandhar and is busy preparing for the upcoming WWE India trials, which will be held in Mumbai. Arif's performance in the upcoming trials will determine if the 23-year-old will be asked to travel to WWE's performance center in Orlando. A total of 40 WWE aspirants will take part in the trials. (Image source: Raja Rehber Jamal)

Arif in a conversation with ZEE News said that it was his childhood dream to join the WWE industry. The 23-year-old also stated that just like his mentor, Great Khali, he also wants to achieve immense success in WWE. Arif also said that his father, Md. Abbu Salim - currently a CRPF sub-inspector, played a major role in his inclination towards the sport. The 6-ft-tall Arif said that his father used to share stories with him about great wrestlers and also narrated him the journey of Khali to one of WWE's main force.
