At least 36 people were killed when a slab built on top of an ancient 'bawdi' or well collapsed during a 'havan' programme commemorating Ram Navami at a temple in Indore city.
Vaishno Devi (January 1, 2022)
A stampede at the famous Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Jammu and Kashmir, triggered by a large crowd of devotees, killed at least 12 people and injured more than a dozen others.

On the first day of the 'Pushkaram' festival in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, a stampede killed 27 pilgrims and injured 20 more.
Patna (October 3, 2014)
A stampede at Gandhi Maidan in Patna killed 32 people and injured 26 others, shortly after the Dussehra celebrations ended.
Datia MP (October 13, 2013)
A stampede occurred near Ratangarh temple in Madhya Pradesh's Datia district, killing 115 people and injuring over 100. Rumours spread that a river bridge that the devotees were crossing was about to collapse, triggering the stampede.

A stampede triggered by rumours of a bomb going off at the Chamunda Devi temple in Rajasthan's Jodhpur city killed nearly 250 people and injured more than 60 others.

A stampede at the Naina Devi temple in Himachal Pradesh's Bilaspur district resulted in 162 deaths and 47 injuries.
Satara (January 25, 2005)
More than 340 devotees were killed and hundreds injured during an annual pilgrimage to the Mandhardevi temple in Maharashtra's Satara district. The accident occurred when some people fell down the steps, which had been made slippery by devotees breaking coconuts.
