Former External Affairs Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Sushma Swaraj died at the age of 67 in New Delhi on Tuesday. After the BJP stalwart’s death, her mortal remains were taken to her residence, where President Ram Nath Kovind, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other political leaders paid their last respects to her. Her last rites will be held at the Lodhi Road electric crematorium in the national capital at around 3 pm on Wednesday.

Sushma Swaraj was born on February 14, 1953, in Ambala Cantt, Haryana. Her father Hardev Sharma was a prominent Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) member.

Sushma Swaraj had shared this photo in May 2016. It was taken in 1977 when she was sworn in as youngest ever cabinet minister.

On July 13, 1975, Sushma Swaraj married Swaraj Kaushal, an advocate at Supreme Court of India. The couple has a daughter named Bansuri, who is a graduate from Oxford University.
