NEW DELHI: In order to boost the morale of our security forces, top political leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and her cabinet colleagues have been visiting the high-altitude Indian border outposts and spending some time with our brave jawans there from time to time. Following the tradition, this time, Minister of State (Home) Kiren Rijiju visited the Rimkhim border outpost along the India-China border, which is managed by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
Like the brave ITBP jawans, the Union Minister too braved the extreme weather conditions to be with them and hailed for their selfless service to the nation. The Union Minister was seen to be enjoying his visit to the Rimkhim post where the normal temperature remains -40 degree Celsius.
Rijiju reached the Rimkhim border post onboard an Mi 17 helicopter.
''Nation must know how our jawans have very difficult lives to make the lives of citizens easy. To motivate them today, I was in an extremely tough Rimkhim Post. Spent very memorable moments with ITBP & Army Personnel. I shared gifts to them & they shared sweets & tea with me,'' Rijiju said in a tweet later.
Taking a break from his hectic work schedule, Rijiju had recently visited the Mountaineering And Skiing Institute, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in Uttarakhand's Auli. This came two months after Rijiju was clicked cycling along the scenic hills with actor Salman Khan at the Mechuka Adventure Festival 2018 in Arunachal Pradesh.
