Press Information Bureau posted a series of tweets answering some of the frequently asked questions related to the Citizenship Amendment Act. Protests erupted in several parts of the country, in the Northeastern states, particularly Assam, Delhi, parts of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have witnessed violent anti-CAA demonstrations. The protest in Delhi turned bitter after students of Jamia Millia Islamia clashed with the police, injuring several persons from both sides. Residents of Seelampur and Jafrabad took to streets in protest against CAA.

CAA is relevant only for Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi and Christian foreigners from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. Meanwhile, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs will hold a review meeting later today over the protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act in different parts of the country. The high-level meeting is likely to be chaired by Home Minister Amit Shah. The MHA also sought details about the prominent people who have been detained during the demonstrations. As per reports, Congress core group will hold a meet at Sonia Gandhi's residence later today over the unrest caused by anti-CAA protests.
