The southwest monsoon arrived in Kerala on Thursday, delayed by two days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) tweeted, "In view of intense to very intense convection, light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Kerala during the next 12 hours."

Rains lash Bengaluru
As per IMD, southwest monsoon is likely to advance into remaining parts of south Arabian sea, rest of Kerala and Lakshadweep south interior Karnataka, Rayalseema and central Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours.

Pre-monsoon showers in Mumbai
On Tuesday, Mumbai received pre-monsoon showers, as the south-west monsoon delayed in Kerala.
Meanwhile, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall at isolated places over northeast India from June 8 to June 10 has been predicted by the weather department.
