Monsoon arrives in Kerala, rains lash other states too: In pics

Kerala on Thursday (June 3) witnessed the onset of southwest monsoon. Several parts of Kerala including Thiruvananthapuram received lashes of rain as southwest monsoon hit the state.

The southwest monsoon arrived in Kerala on Thursday, delayed by two days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) tweeted, "In view of intense to very intense convection, light to moderate rainfall at most places with isolated heavy rainfall is very likely over Kerala during the next 12 hours."

On Tuesday, Mumbai received pre-monsoon showers, as the south-west monsoon delayed in Kerala.

Meanwhile, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall and thunderstorms with heavy rainfall at isolated places over northeast India from June 8 to June 10 has been predicted by the weather department.
