The Centre has issued several Unlock guidelines in the past few months and have relaxed the restrictions that were put in place due to the outbreak of coronavirus. The Unlock guidelines that were issued allowed opening up more activities in areas outside the COVID-19 containment zones.

 

Although, there are still several restrictions under these guidelines to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Swimming pools across the country have been reopened after a long COVID-19 halt, but currently, these are only being used for training of sportspersons.  The Ministry of Home Affairs has only permitted it to open for the training of sportspersons for which the standard operating procedure has also been issued by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports. 

 

 

The general public will now have to wait for the government's announcement till November 30.

Even though the central government has allowed the opening of schools, colleges, educational institutions and coaching institutions from October 15, several states and UTs have decided to not open it amid the COVID-19 outbreak.  

 

 

While several states like Uttar Pradesh, Andra Pradesh and Assam have partially opened schools with strict COVID-19 guidelines, Haryana, Odisha, Tamil Nadu are planning to reopen educational institutes from November 16.

The Centre has allowed the states and UTs to hold the social, academic, sports, entertainment, cultural, religious, political functions and other congregations beyond the limit of 100 persons outside COVID-19 containment zones, but in closed spaces, a maximum of 50% of the hall capacity has been allowed, with a ceiling of 200 persons.

 

Wearing of face masks, maintaining social distancing, provision for thermal scanning and use of hand wash or sanitizer is also mandatory.

The marriage season in summer was completely hit by the coronavirus outbreak, and now, the marriages in closed spaces have only been allowed with a maximum of 50% of the hall capacity with a ceiling of 200 persons.

Like restrictions on other social gatherings in closed spaces, the religious functions in closed spaces with a ceiling of 200 persons, can only be held with a maximum of 50% of the hall capacity.

The cinema halls, theatres and multiplexes have only been permitted to function with up to 50 per cent of their seating capacity for which the SOP has also been issued by the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting.

 

Centre had said the guidelines allowing various activities like opening of cinemas, theatres and multiplexes with up to 50 per cent of their seating capacity will continue to be applicable till November 30 in areas outside the COVID-19 containment zones.

This is to be noted that the lockdown continues to be implemented strictly in the COVID-19 containment zones till the further notice.  

 

Within the containment zones, only essential activities have been allowed.
