Khan Market, known for its branded stores and showrooms, is one of Delhi's top markets. It established in 1951, it’s named after Khan Abdul Jabbar Khan. Delhi-NCR hosts India’s top three most expensive retail high streets, including Connaught Place and Galleria Market.
Khan Market is considered as Delhi's one of the best markets as it is known for its branded stores, boutiques, and large showrooms. While this market can be a bit expensive and considered India's most expensive high street, it has also been ranked as the 22nd most expensive main street globally.
According to a report by Cushman & Wakefield, which analyzes rents in 138 urban and luxury retail locations worldwide, Khan Market has annual rents of $229 per square foot (approximately Rs 19,330).
The limited availability of retail space near Khan Market creates intense competition, pushing rental values higher.
Khan Market was established in 1951. The market is named after Khan Abdul Jabbar Khan, the brother of freedom fighter Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan. Reportedly, the name was given by people who had settled in India from the north-western provinces after the partition.
Delhi-NCR now hosts the top three most expensive retail high streets in India. In addition to Khan Market, Connaught Place (Delhi) and Galleria Market (Gurgaon) also rank prominently in the APAC rankings, with annual rents of $158 (Rs 13,335) and $156 (Rs 13,166) per square foot, respectively.
