Ghum Railway Station is nearly 150 years old and it was started by the British in 1878 to connect Kolkata directly to Darjeeling. In 1879, this line reached Ghum, near Darjeeling to provide convenience in travelling.
The railway station is located just 7 kilometres from Darjeeling and it is considered the 14th most beautiful station in the world. Because it is situated at such a height, clouds can be seen floating around you. It is extremely popular among tourists from all over the country.
