Born on December 25, 1924 in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s political journey began in 1939 when he joined RSS as a swayamsewak. Late former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, who passed away on August 16, 2018, was an iconic leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and a well-known poet, orator and a social worker.
