Ayodhya gets ready for first 'Deepotsav' since Ram temple construction started: In pics

Ayodhya: The festival of lights, Diwali, is around the corner and Ayodhya is all geared up for its first 'Deepotsav' event that will take place since the Supreme Court's order for the Ram temple construction in the holy city.

 

The Deepotsav celebrations has started on Wednesday (November 11, 2020) and the whole city has been decorated with lights. 

The celebrations that will go on for the next three days will also be attended by Governor Anandiben Patel and chief minister Yogi Adityanath. CM Yogi is scheduled to take the blessings at the Ram Lalla and begin the celebrations officially by lighting up a 'diya'. 

 

CM Yogi will also perform an 'aarti' at the banks of Sarayu river.

 

 

This year the Sarayu ghat bridge has also been decorated. 

This time unlike previous three years, there will be 11 'Jhankiyan' that will be taken out on November 13. These will witness the scenes from the birth of Lord Ram to the end of Ravana.

 

According to a report, the entry of outsiders in Ayodhya has been banned due to COVID-19 protocols. 

This year, over 5,51,000 'diya' will be lit for the 'Deepotsav' at the Ram Janmbhoomi site which will reportedly be a Guinness World Record. 

The main Deepotsav event is scheduled to start at 3 pm on November 13 which will reportedly be broadcast live on public address systems and on 70 LED vans in Ayodhya.
