River Levels and Affected Areas
Major rivers, including the Brahmaputra, Burhi Dihing, Disang, and Kushiyara, are flowing above danger levels. Significant flooding has been reported in districts such as Cachar, Kamrup, Golaghat, and Dibrugarh.
Agricultural and Village Inundation
A total of 2,406 villages and 32,924 hectares of crop area are underwater. Dhubri district is the worst affected, with 3,18,326 people impacted.
Relief Efforts and Shelter
Over 2.95 lakh people are taking refuge in 316 relief camps and distribution centres. Efforts are ongoing to provide aid and support to the affected populations.
Wildlife Impact in Kaziranga National Park
The floods have resulted in the deaths of 180 animals in Kaziranga National Park, including 10 rhinos. Park authorities and the forest department have rescued 135 animals, although 35 forest camps remain submerged.
