Who Was Bhojpuri Actor Amrita Pandey, Found Dead In Her Bihar Apartment?

Amrita Panday popularly known as Annapurna, was among the most renowned actress in the Bhojpuri Film Industry. She also made notable appearances in Hindi Film Projects such as ‘ ‘Chennai Express’ (2013), ‘Haider’ (2014) and  ‘Dangal’ (2016). Her last project was the web series ‘Pratishodh’.

Amrita Panday got married to Chandramani Jhangad, who is an animation engineer. They Lived in Mumbai. On April 18, They went to Bhagalpur for her sister’s wedding. Her husband left for Mumbai and she chose to stay back for a few days. 

Amrita’s family mentioned that she was concerned about her career as she wasn’t receiving sufficient work and was struggling with depression. They added that she was undergoing treatment for depression. 

According to police, she posted a cryptic WhatsApp status before her death which said ‘Do naav me savaar thi uski zindagi, humne apni naav duba ke uska safar aasaan kar diya’( their life was sailing on two boats, I made their journey easier by sinking my boat) No suicide note has been found by the authorities.

On April 27th Jogsar Police in Bihar responded to a case of a woman's death in Divyadharma Apartment. Upon arrival, they identified the body found on the bed as Amrita Pandey’s. 

A Special team has been assembled and family members are currently being questioned. The City Superintendent of Police stated that a thorough investigation will be conducted into the case.
