Who Is Hanumankind? Indian Rapper Turns Global Sensation With Viral Hit 'Big Dawgs'

Sooraj Cherukat, known professionally as Hanumankind (HMK), is a Kerala-born rapper who spent his formative years in Houston, Texas.  After working at Goldman Sachs upon returning in 2012, he transitioned to a music career, making waves with his rap.

In a chat with Radio One International, the rapper revealed how he created his hit song 'Big Dawgs' in just 20 minutes. HMK said, "Probably about like 20 minutes of just writing and going recording it another like 20 minutes and then really then and it was like of course it's like shaping up in the end of it but like when we made the song initially was like Comey made the beat and like in 15 20 mins''. 

HMK's  'Big Dawgs' music video, directed by Bijoy Shetty and produced by Kalmi of Brown Crew Productions, is a trendsetter in the hip-hop industry. Its iconic stunt scenes and gritty visuals, shot in Ponnani, Kerala by cinematographer Abhinay Pandit, perfectly enhance the track's intensity.

Hanumankind made his debut with the EP 'Kalari' and gained further recognition through his collaborative project 'Surface Level' with Kalmi. Emerging as a leading figure in the Indian hip-hop scene, his previous tracks such as 'Genghis,' 'Rush Hour,' and 'Go To Sleep' highlight his talent and versatility.
