Singer KK cremated in Mumbai, family and friends bid an emotional farewell - IN PICS

Popular Bollywood singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, known by his stage name KK, was cremated  at Mumbai's Versova Hindu crematorium around 2 pm, just a kilometre away from his home at Park Plaza apartment. The final journey began from his residence to the crematorium with his son Nakul performing the rituals. The last rites were conducted in the presence of his family and close friends from the film fraternity. The 53-year-old singer died in Kolkata on Tuesday night shortly after a performance at a concert, leaving the industry and his fans in a state of shock. An ambulance adorned with flowers and a picture of KK, carried the singer's body to the crematorium. Here are the visuals from his last rites and final journey:

Shreya Ghoshal, Alka Yagnik and others were shocked by KK's death. Javed Ali, Salim Merchant, noted singer Hariharan, Abhijeet Bhattacharya among many others paid their last respects.
