Irrfan Khan, always and forever; tributes from his co-stars

Irrfan Khan, it was an honour to work with you, wrote Kareena Kapoor, a self-confessed fan of the actor, after his death on Wednesday. Kareena co-starred with Irrfan in his last release ‘Angrezi Medium’, which hit the screens just for a day in March amid the coronavirus scare. Later, the film was streamed on Disney+Hotstar, much to the delight of his fans.

Irrfan, who was 53, died at a hospital in Mumbai this afternoon. He was being treated for a colon infection. Irrfan, who battled neuroendocrine tumour, was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday.

Kareena and Irrfan's other co-stars have shared their condolences for the actor and his family. Take a look.

Shraddha Kapoor, who worked with Irrfan in 'Haider', wrote, "Very sad to hear about Irrfan sir's passing. One of our finest actors. A magician on the big screen; inspiring & igniting people’s hearts! I was excited beyond words to get the precious opportunity to share screen space with him in Haider. Will always be his fan & cherish those moments. RIP Irrfan, sir."

Irrfan worked with Arjun in 'Gunday'. It was Arjun's third film.

Priyanka Chopra and Irrfan co-starred in '7 Khoon Maaf'. In her tribute, she wrote, "The world will always remember your legacy. You fought like a warrior.. Rest in peace my friend.. My condolences to the family."

Radhika Madan played Irrfan's daughter in 'Angrezi Medium'. She wrote, "I don't know what to say... my heart aches when I write this. He was one of the strongest people I knew, a fighter. I am really grateful that our paths crossed in this lifetime. He is and will always be an inspiration to me and many. A legend. The man who changed the wave of the Indian film industry. May his soul rest in peace. Love you Irrfan sir. It was a privilege knowing you."

"Just getting news of the passing of Irfaan Khan.. this is the most disturbing and sad news .. An incredible talent .. a gracious colleague .. a prolific contributor to the World of Cinema .. left us too soon .. creating a huge vacuum .. Prayers and duas," Irrfan's 'Piku' co-star Amitabh Bachchan wrote.

Mera Salaam," his 'Qarib Qarib Single Single' co-star Parvathy Thiruvothu wrote.

Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan debuted in Bollywood with Irrfan's 2017 film 'Karwaan'. He posted his tribute for the actor in a lengthy post.
