He entered Bollywood in 2003
For the unversed, Emraan Hashmi made his starry debut in Bollywood with Vikram Bhatt's thriller film 'Footpath' co-staring Aftab Shivdasani and Bipasha Basu. He had played the role of a gangster in his first film.

He is Mahesh and Mukesh Bhatt's nephew
Emraan Hashmi's grandmother Meherbano Mohammad Ali was Shirin Mohammad Ali's sister who was the mother of Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. This means producers Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt are Emraan's uncles and he is their nephew. This makes him cousins with Ali, Shaheen and Pooja Bhatt.
On the education front, he completed his schooling in Mumbai at Jamnabai Narsee School and then studied at Sydenham College in the same city. For his Bachelor's degree, he pursued it at University of Mumbai.

Emraan Hashmi got married in 2006
Emraan Hashmi is married to Parveen Shahani who he was dating for 6.5 years before tying the knot. The couple got married in an Islamid wedding ceremony in 2006. They share a son, Ayaan Hasmi, together.

Emraan Hashmi's son had gotten diagnosed with first-stage cancer in 2014 which was undoubtedly a difficult time for him and his wife. Thankfully, he was declared cancer free in 2019. Before that, Emraan had written a book on his son's journey with cancer titled 'Kiss of Life' in 2016.
