Raajneeti is a 2010 political thriller film co-written, directed and produced by Prakash Jha, with a screenplay by Anjum Rajabali and Prakash Jha. Depicting an archetypal conflict between rival political families and parties, based on the Mahabharata, the film starred an ensemble cast of Ajay Devgn, Nana Patekar, Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif, Arjun Rampal, Manoj Bajpayee, Sarah Thompson and Naseeruddin Shah.

Baahubali: The Beginning is a 2015 Indian epic action film co-written and directed by SS Rajamouli, and produced by Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni under Arka Media Works. It features Prabhas in a dual role alongside Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, Sathyaraj, and Nassar. The story concludes in Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017). The film's story has been written by Rajamouli's father V Vijayendra Prasad. According to Wikipedia, his fascination with Mahabharata and the tales of Amar Chitra Katha and Chandamama fuelled his interest in the story.

Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva is a 2022 fantasy action-adventure film written and directed by Ayan Mukerji. The film serves as the first instalment of a planned trilogy, which is itself planned to be part of a cinematic universe titled Āstraverse, and stars an ensemble cast including Amitabh Bachchan, Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna with Shah Rukh Khan in a special appearance. Drawing inspiration from tales in Hindu mythology, the story follows Shiva, an orphan musician with pyrokinetic powers who discovers that he is an astra, a weapon of enormous energy.
