In addition to providing access to Reels editing tools and a full-screen, Instagram now creates all films in under fifteen minutes as Instagram Reels. The business stated at the time of the announcement that this film joins Reels, which provide a more engaging and fun way to watch and create videos.

At one point, Instagram grids were incredibly popular, but they were also very challenging to keep up. However, this year, the app made it possible when it introduced the post-pinning option. The top three posts can now be pinned to a user's profile.

Instagram extended the maximum duration of videos on stories from 15 to 60 seconds. Previously, a single video under 60 seconds could be produced without a cut, however a story video could only be recorded for 15 seconds with four cuts.

A single Instagram post that appears in the Feeds or Reels of two different users is known as a collaboration. Joint posts simultaneously appear in two locations. Additionally, they share likes, shares, and comments. This feature was designed to promote discovery and interaction. The post is made by one user, who then adds the other as a collaborator. The post is shared under both users' accounts as soon as the collaborator approves. Although this function was only available to certain accounts, it was still present in 2021. It wasn't made universally accessible until 2022.
