Mahindra launches XUV 300 Petrol with AutoShift AMT- In pics

Mahindra has launched its popular sub-compact-SUV XUV 300 Petrol with an Auto-Shift gearbox in the Indian market. The Petrol AMT transmission will be offered in W6, W8 and W8(O) variants.

Top of the line W8(O) variant gets Mahindra's BlueSense Plus connected technology as an addition.

Mahindra has started taking the bookings for the model and deliveries are expected to start from mid-February.

AMT transmission was exclusive to the diesel powertrain in the XUV 300. Mahindra is known for listening to the customer feedback and has launched AMT with its petrol engine.

This is an auto version of the 6-speed manual gearbox supplied by Magneti Marelli. The auto gearbox is tuned well and offers extremely smooth shifts. 

Mahindra XUV 300 gets auto as well as manual gear shift modes with this gearbox. 

The car gets a hill-start assist, kick-down shifts, adaptive pedal response technology, tap-to-tap switch.

The car also gets a "creep" function which helps the driver sail through bumper-to-bumper city traffic with the utmost ease.

The car gets no changes on the inside. The car gets the same old dashboard with a touchscreen which supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The car gets automatic climate control and driving modes which tries to offer the different driving experience to the person behind the wheel. 

The car's instrument cluster is clear and easy to read. The dashboard is built well but looks old compared to the other offerings in the segment.

Mahindra XUV 300 is based on SsangYong Tivoli and is a tried and tested product.

The car is India's highest-scoring model in Global NCAP safety test. According to the report given by Global NCAP, the XUV 300 scored a respectable 16.42 out of 17 for the adult occupant protection at the front.

XUV 300's bodyshell is stable and is capable of withstanding further loadings. The car scored 37.44 points out of 44 for child occupant protection.

Mahindra XUV 300 gets BlueSense Plus connected car technology for the top of the line variant.

This offers features such as geofencing, vehicle information alerts, remote vehicle control, location-based services.

This technology is available for both iOS and Android smartphones.

Addition of the AMT gearbox makes Mahindra XUV 300 a more practical and easy to use vehicle for the city customers.
