How To Check Blocked Contact List On WhatsApp? Step By Step Process Explained

Users report WhatsApp content that they find is problematic. If you don't want to receive WhatsApp messages, calls, or status updates from a contact, you can block them. 

 

WhatsApp says, "Blocking or reporting users who might be problematic helps keep WhatsApp safe. When you report a user or group, the most recent 5 messages from that user or group are sent to WhatsApp and they will not receive any notification. WhatsApp also receives information about the reported group or user ID, including when and what type of messages they sent (such as photos, videos, texts, etc.). If you report a user but don't block them, you will continue to receive their messages, calls, and status updates."

 

If you block someone, you will not see any of their messages, calls, or status updates. Similarly, your blocked contacts will not be able to see when you were last seen on WhatsApp. They won't know if and when you were online, nor will see your status updates or your changed profile picture. 

 

"If you block a contact, they will not be removed from your contacts list, nor will you be removed from theirs. Your existing chats will continue to appear in your chats list. You can delete the chat if you want to remove it from your chats list, or archive it if you want to hide it from your chats list," says WhatsApp.

 

As per WhatsApp policy after you block someone:

--Below the name of the blocked contact and in your chat with them, you will see "You have blocked this contact" . The blocked contact will not see this.

--After blocking a contact, you can choose whether to unblock them or delete them. Instead, you can also choose to archive the chat. If you don't want to report the user you blocked, uncheck the box next to Report to WhatsApp .

To check which contacts you have blocked on WhatsApp --open the app --go to Settings -- Select "Privacy" -- You can view "Blocked contacts" from the drop-down menu

Blocked numbers will appear in the Blocked section once you follow the above steps. Now You can click on the number, you will be given an "Unblock" option. Upon clicking that, you can unblock your chat/contact.
