Once again, the 'life-saving' capabilities of the Apple Watch are winning people over. News anchor Marcella Lee of San Diego's CBS 8 has talked about how the gadget helped save her son's life during a recent skiing trip.

According to Lee, her 16-year-old son informed her during the trip that he is feeling under the weather and won't be able to go skiing. His lips and fingertips started to get a little blue after a while, so she put her Apple Watch on his wrist to check his oxygen saturation levels. His blood oxygen levels were then displayed on the watch at 66 percent.

After doing so, the family turned to the internet, where they discovered that blood saturation levels below 88 percent call for urgent attention. The blood oxygen saturation level determined by her Apple Watch was 67 percent, which was nearly as precise as the one determined by the medical device when they eventually went to a nearby ER.

Further examinations revealed that her kid had High Altitude Pulmonary Edema (HAPE), a condition that can be fatal, and that his lungs were swollen with fluid. In Colorado, HAPE affects around one in ten thousand skiers, according to a CBS 8 story.

The ECG sensor data from the Apple Watch can be utilised to create a reliable and effective stress prediction tool, according to a recent study. Researchers from the University of Waterloo in Canada carried out the investigation. An electrocardiogram, also known as an ECG, is a test that captures the frequency and intensity of the electrical signals that cause the heart to beat. A doctor can learn more about your heart rhythm and look for anomalies by examining your ECG.

According to the article, using the ECG sensor on the Apple Watch Series 6, researchers discovered a strong correlation between individuals' stated levels of stress at the time the measurements were obtained and ECG data, including cardiac acceleration and deceleration capacity.
