This is how pretty-pink Rs 2000 note is duping common public

New Delhi: The much talked about 2000 rupee note, so far has failed to charm common public despite its pretty-pink, slimmer and lighter weight.

Since the note is of a high denomination, those who own the currency are complaining that they are unable to find takers for such a high value note, especially in the current times, when there is already an overall shortage of low value currency notes.

As per reports, with more ATMs getting calibrated to dispense new notes of Rs 500 and Rs 2000, more such currency is expected to come into market.

Conmen and scammers have already started taking advantage of the little-to-no-knowledge about the new currency to the common man. Chikkamagaluru town police have registered a complaint under Section 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code, and are on the lookout for the culprits. A man traded the Rs 2000 note in APMC mandi, which was later identified as only a a photocopy of the new note, not the original one
