New Delhi: No sooner was the new Rs 2000 note launched in the market, fake notes of the same denomination appeared, much to the horror of the people, the government and the Reserve Bank of India.

To prevent any such further counterfeits, the RBI also released a series of security features of the Rs 2000 note, including features for the visually challenged/impaired.

As per the Reserve Bank, the new design banknotes in the denomination of Rs 2000 as part of the Mahatma Gandhi (New) Series has motif of the Mangalayan on the reverse, depicting the country's first venture in interplanetary space.
