Wanted to hide after past split from Brooklyn Beckham, says Chloe Moretz

Los Angeles: Chloe Grace Moretz has opened up about her past breakup with on-again boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham, saying it was hard for her to deal with the split.

The 20-year-old "Kick-Ass" actor and Victoria Beckham and David Beckham's eldest son first sparked romance rumors in 2014 and have dated on and off over the past couple of years.

Moretz and Brooklyn, 18, last broke up in summer 2016 and rekindled their romance a year later, around September, after he moved to New York to study photography.

"I went through a hard year and I'm not going to hide that. I had to deal with this new level of fame while I was growing up, I was getting out of a relationship and all of it was very public. I wanted to hide," the actor told Australia's Daily Telegraph's Stellar magazine.

She said she spent time out of the spotlight for a while and her family helped her recover. "They were like, 'That's all great that you want to go away?but you can't. You are your own person. You're going to have to deal with this sort of thing'. I felt like things were falling apart, like my head and heart weren't in the same place."

"Things started to change when I realized I have the power within to change them," she said.
