Sonu Nigam quits Twitter, says I don't belong to a place which spews so much venom

Mumbai: Sonu Nigam, who drew flak for his comments on the use of loudspeakers at places of worship, a few weeks back, took to Twitter Monday morning for the last time to announce his decision to delete his account.

In a series of tweets, Sonu explained why he chose to move out of the micro-blogging site despite being showered with immense love and appreciation from fans.

Nigam, who has been in the film industry for over two decades, tonsured his head in order to respond to a fatwa issued against him by a cleric, soon after his ‘Azaan’ tweet made headlines.
