Sonali Bendre shares her latest read, reveals chemo made her eyesight weak

New Delhi: Classic Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre is currently in NYC and undergoing treatment for high-grade cancer that has metastasised. The actress had announced about her illness on social media, leaving fans, friends and family in a state of shock.

The actress, however, has put up a brave front and has been sharing inspiring notes and her pictures sporting a bald look. She is also a voracious reader and even runs a book club on her name. In her latest post, she shared her new book that she is reading currently.

She wrote in her caption: “Time to announce the next book! The last one took a while, as my eyesight was doing strange things due to the chemo and I couldn't read for a while. Was panicking a bit, but now all is well again! Whew! The next book for SBC is set in the city I'm currently in, New York... it's called A Little Life by @hanyayanagihara. It's been nominated for so many literary awards and is a story of friendship and ambition. We've read books with female friendships before, but this is our first one on friendship among boys... Should be interesting. Can't wait to start reading it, and I hope you read it with me too. #SBCBookDiscussion #SBC #SonalisBookClub”

The avid reader that she is, the actress started off ‘Sonali’s Book Club’ on social media propagating the idea of reading amongst people. And this year in March it completed a year.

Sonali regularly updates about her condition on social media and often shares pictures and videos. She has documented each phase of braving the disease and has emerged as a really strong person.
