'Verna' is directed by renowned director Shoaib Mansoor starring Mahira and Haroon Shahid in the lead roles. The film got embroiled in a controversy owing to its content.
Reportedly, the filmmaker has filed an appeal, and the decision to release the film in the country is still pending. Mahira's Verna is about a rape victim's fight for justice and the film still awaits its certification from the censor board.
The actress finally opened up on the issue and took to Twitter to vent out her feelings. She wrote: Tonight I realize how powerful artists are, not those in power. We are. Why else do we get banned?
