Mahesh Bhatt makes Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor's relationship official, says 'of course they are in love'

New Delhi: The year 2018 has been all about relationships and weddings! Bollywood witnessed three huge weddings this year with Sonam Kapoor-Anand Ahuja, Deepika Padukone-Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra-Nick Jonas tying the nuptial knot! Reports of rumoured love birds Malaika Arora and Arjun Kapoor planning to tie the knot are also doing rounds and we couldn't be more thrilled for them. Yet another couple, Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are the talk of the town these days.

There has been much speculation of something brewing between the two and even though we have had ample hints of them being a couple, nothing was official as of now. Ranbir and Alia have adressed their relationship rumours time and again and in an interview with GQ India magazine, the actor said it is 'too new to talk about', but they haven't said in clear terms that they are indeed, dating.

Well, looks like the cat is out the bag, finally! All thanks to Alia's father Mahesh Bhatt. In an interview with The Telegraph, Mr Bhatt confirmed that Ranbir and Alia are in love.

The filmmaker was asked what he thinks of Ranbir. To this, he replied, "Well, of course they’re in love. You don’t need to be a genius to get that! I love Ranbir… he’s a great guy. What they do to their relationship is something they’ll have to figure out. Whether it’s heading towards that port called ‘marriage’ — which is an institution that needs to be questioned in the second decade of the 21st century — is something for them to figure out. I’m no one to hazard a guess when that would happen or which way the relationship is going. It’s life and life needs to be lived on its own terms. Let’s wait and see what tomorrow brings for us!"

Well, that clears the air! All the 'Raila' fans have a reason to smile.

Ever since Ranbir and Alia started working together on 'Brahamastra', rumours about their alleged affair caught fire. The rumour of them being a couple gained ground after ace designer friend Manish Malhotra spilled the beans on 'BFF's with Vogue', hinting at their possible 'hook up in 2018'.

The duo walked in together at Sonam Kapoor and Anand Ahuja's gala wedding reception held at The Leela, Mumbai. They came, happily posed and left—adding more fuel to them being a couple.
