Blackbuck poaching case: Salman Khan fans gather outside Jodhpur court, pray for his release
The actor was held guilty in the 20-year-old case of killing two blackbucks during the shooting of the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in 1998.

New Delhi: Superstar Salman Khan was convicted in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case and sentenced to a 5-year jail term by a sessions court in Jodhpur on April 5, 2018. The actor, who was lodged in the Central Jail after the judgement came out has an ocean of fan following praying for his release.
His bail application will be heard today in the court, deciding the future course of action. Meanwhile, the solid fan base he enjoys has already gathered outside his residence at Galaxy Apartments, Mumbai as well as outside the court premises in Jodhpur, reportedly.
Praying for his immediate release, some fans were even seen singing outside the actor's residence in Mumbai. As per reports, Salman's family members including sisters Alvira, Arpita and brother Sohail and Arbaaz have reached the court for hearing already. Also, filmmaker friend Sajid Nadiadwala cancelled the success bash of his film 'Baaghi 2' after the superstar was sentenced. The director too has rushed to Jodhpur, to be by his friend's side.
The actor was held guilty in the 20-year-old case of killing two blackbucks during the shooting of the film 'Hum Saath Saath Hain' in 1998. Other actors including Saif Ali Khan, Tabu, Sonali Bendre and Neelam Kothari were acquitted of all charges by the court.
Salman was awarded a five-year sentence and fined Rs 10,000 for the crime.
