Christmas

The birth of Jesus is celebrated with great rejoicing all over the world on December 25th. The feast is preceded by a period of about one month (four Sundays) known as Advent. Jesus is the long awaited Savior.

The first part of the Bible, or Old Testament, presents the history of humanity ever since the fall of Adam and Eve as a long expectation.

Mankind in different degrees of awareness has been looking forward to the coming of the Liberator. Sin with all its consequences seems to be ever frustrating the efforts of men. Salvation seems to be beyond their reach. But the longing persists even after a thousand failures. This longing is the theme of Advent, Christmas its fulfillment. The Savior, the desired of the nations is born.
