Snapdeal disassociates itself from Aamir Khan's comments on intolerance
Snapdeal said that it does not subscribe to the actor's stand.

New Delhi: Distancing itself from the controversial statement made by Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, online shopping portal Snapdeal on Wednesday said that it does not subscribe to the actor's stand.

“We are neither connected nor play a role in comments made by Aamir Khan in his personal capacity,” Snapdeal said in a statement.
Snapdeal has recieved a lot of flak following Khan's remarks on intolerance in the country.
Khan, who was roped in as the brand ambassador of Snapdeal this March, had recently said: "For the last six to eight months, there has been a growing despondency I would say. Kiran (wife Kiran Rao) and I have lived all our life in India. When I sit at home and talk to Kiran, for the first time she said, 'Should we move out of India?' Now that's a very disastrous and a big comment to make to me."

Snapdeal further said, “We are a proud Indian company built by passionate young Indians focused on building an inclusive digital India”.
On Google Play Store, the e-commerce site was downgraded with users giving the app a one-star rating.

Aamir's remarks at an awards event in New Delhi has set social media abuzz with criticism while a campaign has also begun in the social media asking users to uninstall the app and even christening the movement as #AppWapsi.
