Reliance Retail Q2 profit up 13%

It had reported PBDIT (profit before depreciation and income tax) at Rs 186 crore in the same period of the 2014-15 fiscal.

New Delhi: Reliance Retail, arm of Reliance Industries, today reported 12.90 percent increase in its pre-tax profit at Rs 210 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2015-16.

It had reported PBDIT (profit before depreciation and income tax) at Rs 186 crore in the same period of the 2014-15 fiscal.

Reliance Retail's turnover in the quarter under review went up by 22.17 percent at Rs 5,091 crore, as against Rs 4,167 crore in the year-ago period.

"Reliance Retail recorded continued growth momentum and strong profitability in the second quarter of the current financial year," the company said in a statement.

This quarter, Reliance Brands announced an exclusive long term partnership with Centaurus lifestyle brands for retailing Ed Hardy innerwear brand in India.

Reliance Retail now operates 2,857 stores across 250 cities in India.
