New Delhi: Pakistan on Saturday condemned the appalling terror attack at an Indian Air Force base in Pathankot in the Indian state of Punjab and said that it remains committed to partner with India to eradicate the menace of terrorism.

At least three Indian security personnel and four militants were killed when terrorists stormed an IAF base in Pathankot on Saturday morning.

“Pakistan condemns the terrorist incident in Pathankot in which many precious lives have been lost,” Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

The Pakistani Foreign Office further said that “Pakistan remains committed to partner with India as well as other countries in the region to completely eradicate the menace of terrorism afflicting our region.”

"Pakistan extends heartfelt condolences to the Government and the people of India and the bereaved families and wish the wounded speedy and full recovery," Foreign Office spokesman Qazi Khalilullah said.

Meanwhile, Minister of State in the PMO, Jitendra Singh, said that Indian security forces are well-prepared to deal with all situations.

The minister, however, refused to elaborate further in this regard, saying that security-related issues cannot be discussed in the public domain.
