Myanmar president meets Aung San Suu Kyi for dialogue

Nay Pyi Taw: Myanmar President U Thein Sein on Wednesday met Aung San Suu Kyi, chairperson of the opposition party which has won majority in the recent general elections, for a dialogue in the presidential palace.
Details about their talks were not immediately available.
The meeting came after her prior talks with U Shwe Mann, the Parliament speaker, on November 19, in which they agreed to emphasise on national reconciliation and consolidation in forming parliament of the next term through coordination and cooperation.
Later in the day, Suu Kyi is scheduled to meet commander-in-chief of defence services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
Min Aung Hlaing had pledged earlier that the armed forces will work with the new government for the stability, tranquility and development of the country.
The present term of Parliament is to expire on January 31, 2016, and is to be taken over by the newly-elected Parliament.
The new government is expected to be formed in February with presidential run taking place in accordance with the constitution.
