Lucknow: The tussle between Bharatiya Janata Party and Bahujan Samaj Party is set to get uglier with the planned sit-in and demonstration by the women workers, supporters and leaders of the BJP here on Thursday against the alleged objectionable comments made by BSP leaders.
The BJP will be protesting against the BSP leaders and workers for dragging the family members of its expelled leader Dayashankar Singh into the political slugfest.
As per BJP general secretary Anupama Jaiswal, "We are demanding the immediate dismissal of BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui from the post of the Leader of Opposition in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council and his arrest along with other BSP leaders.”
She claimed that thousands of women workers would march through the city streets on Thursday against the comments of BSP leaders.
The demonstration would be joined by all women BJP MPs from the state, legislators, municipal corporation chairpersons and public representatives.
BJP expelled Dayashankar Singh for six years for making derogatory remarks against BSP supremo Mayawati.
Criticising Mayawati's ticket distribution system in Mau, Singh had compared her to a sex worker. An FIR was lodged against Singh by National Secretary of BSP Mewalal Gautam at Hazratganj police station on July 20.
On the next day, after BSP workers made similar remarks against Singh's wife and a minor daughter during a demonstration, his mother lodged an FIR against Mayawati and three other leaders on July 22.
