Lucknow: The BSP workers are using the same kind of offensive language against women that they are protesting against being used for their leader Mayawati, said the Uttar Pradesh unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday.
The posters, banners and slogans that Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) workers used on Thursday to voice their anger against Dayashankar Singh, the expelled state BJP vice president, contains foul and derogatory language against his wife and daughter, said the BJP.
The language of BSP demonstrators was so objectionable that it compelled the minor daughter of Dayashankar Singh to confront BSP member Naseemuddin Siddiqui with the response, "Let me know where do I have to present myself before you."
Dayashankar Singh's mother said her daughter has been traumatised by the nasty words inflicted on her.
BJP leaders said while they do not approve of what Dayashankar Singh said against BSP supremo Mayawati, they cannot take lying down the language used against his wife and daughter.
Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Daljeet Chowdhary assured the agitated BJP workers that the demonstration by BSP workers was videographed and if anything objectionable was found, it would be dealt with as per law.
Dayashankar Singh had triggered a furore by making objectionable comments against Mayawati.
The BJP expelled him and an FIR was lodged against him in Lucknow.
The police has since been looking for him.
