Three Naxals held in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district

When the patrolling team reached near Tamodi, a few Naxals triggered an IED blast and attempted to flee from the spot.

Raipur: Three Naxals were arrested from two places in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district, police said on Monday.

"While two militia cadres Pandru Kadti (36) and Somru Potam (20) were apprehended from Mirtoor police station limits, another Nuppo Budhra (40) was held from Usoor police station area yesterday," a senior police official told PTI.

Acting on specific inputs, a joint team of Special Task Force (STF), Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) and District Force had last evening launched a search operation towards Tamodi and Madpal villages of Mirtoor, around 450 kms away from here, he said.

When the patrolling team reached near Tamodi, a few Naxals triggered an IED blast and attempted to flee from the spot.

Of them, Kadti and Potam were arrested after a chase and cordex wire and a battery (used in detonating explosives) recovered from their possession, the official said.

In a separate incident, the lower rung cadre Budhra was arrested by a joint team of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), CAF and district force from jungles of Galgam village, he said.

The ultra was allegedly involved several Naxal incidents, including murder, attempt to murder, damaging roads and public property, he added.
