Three killed; 12 hurt in road mishap in Medak, Telangana

The victims hailed from Wadi and Shikhar villages in Nanded district in Maharashtra.

Sangareddy: Three persons were today killed and 12 others injured in a road accident in Medak district of Telangana, police said.

According to Venkataiah, Circle inspector of Jogipet police station, the mishap took place near Danampally village in the wee hours when two families from Maharashtra were on their way to Tirupati and their vehicle rammed into a tree while the driver tried to avoid collision with an auto coming from the opposite direction.

The victims hailed from Wadi and Shikhar villages in Nanded district in the neighbouring state.

Three persons died on the spot. The deceased were identified as Phulia Bhai, Laxmi Bhai and Bheem Rao, police said.

The injured were admitted to government area hospital in Jogipet from where four were shifted to Gandhi hospital Hyderabad in a critical condition, they said.

A case has been registered and further probe is underway.
