Telangana: A day after registering a FIR in connection with the alleged leak of the Medical EAMCET-II question paper, the Telangana CID on Wednesday arrested four people.
According to reports, Telangana EAMCET-II is likely to be cancelled due to leaked question papers.
Four accused-- Rajagopal Reddy, Vishnu, Tirumal and Ramesh – are in the custody of the CID, while four others are absconding.
The Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test (EAMCET-2) was conducted on July 9 and the results were declared on July 14. The examination was conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Hyderabad.
Following media reports about the leak of the question paper ahead of the examination, the JNTU officials had requested the Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma to look into the issue, who on July 20 had ordered a preliminary inquiry by CID.
As per Oneindia news, 69 students managed to get their hands on the leaked question papers and scamsters collected Rs 40 lakhs to Rs 70 lakhs from each student.
The CID has further concluded that Telangana EAMCET-II question paper was leaked from Delhi printing press. The department will submit its report to the Telangana government on Thursday.
