Massachusetts, US: Boston Dynamics, Google's robotic arm, released a video fearuring its latest version of Atlas robot.
The footage, posted to the company's YouTube channel, shows a slew of impressive, yet new capabilities.

In the video, the upgraded robot is seen opening doors, picking up boxes and walking through the snow. He's also being abused by an evil scientist wielding a hockey stick, but the humanoid robot continues with its tasks despite the distractions.
According to Boston Dynamics, the new version of Atlas robot is about 5 feet inches tall (about a head shorter than the DRC Atlas) and weighs 180 pounds. It is designed to operate outdoors and inside buildings and is specialized for mobile manipulation.
The "Next Generation" Atlas is electrically powered and hydraulically actuated. It uses sensors in its body and legs to balance and LIDAR and stereo sensors in its head to avoid obstacles, assess the terrain, help with navigation and manipulate objects, adds the Google-owned robotics firm.
It may be noted that Google acquired Boston Dynamics in 2013 along with seven other robotics companies in the same year.
