New Delhi: A new species of spider has been discovered in Australia that can eat toads as well as swim. The spider, that has been named after a famed physicist Brian Greene, was unveiled at the 9th annual World Science Festival held in Brisbane.

This creature, named Dolomedes briangreenei, is around the size of a human palm and can locate its prey by detecting vibrations while skimming around on the surface. This creature can eat tadpoles, fish, toads and even insects which fall into its path.

The spider is only found in freswater streams around Brisbane, on Australia's east coast. Luckily for all the Aussies, it is not believed to be dangerous to humans.
