Instagram to launch new feature based on users' interest soon?

New Delhi: Do you like what you see whenever you log on to the photo-sharing app Instagram? Or do you find yourself scrolling aimlessly among the thousands of pics, because nothing really interests you?

Well, seems like Instagram now has an answer to your woes! The image-sharing app is now working on a feature that is based on the interests of Instagram users.

The new feature that is currently being tested, promises to provide users with a more personalised feed that would show posts according to the user's interest.

Since Instagram currently organizes its feeds from newest to oldest, people miss out on an average of 70 percent of the posts in their feeds, according to Instagram co-founder and chief executive Kevin Systrom, as reported by The Verge.

The report also said that the company is using machine-learning technology, as well as other signals of interest, to determine how to sort content. The people you interact with more often appear higher in the feed.

Instagram currently has more than 400 million users and is available for download on Android, iOS and Windows.
