Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the grave issue of terrorism emanating from Pakistan during his meeting with US President Barack Obama here on Monday and said that all nations have to be on the same page to tackle this menace.

New York: Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed the grave issue of terrorism emanating from Pakistan during his meeting with US President Barack Obama here on Monday and said that all nations have to be on the same page to tackle this menace.
"There was a discussion of Pakistan in one of the meeting in the context of terrorism but broadly the idea was that if terrorism has to be fought, all countries have to be on the same page," Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) official spokesperson Vikas Swarup informed the media here.
Prime Minister Modi met three world leaders namely British Prime Minister David Cameron, French President François Hollande and US President Obama here today.Swarup said climate change was the central topic during the Prime Minister`s meeting with the three world leaders.
"They also talked about terrorism and particularly Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism, then our desire to be a member of the four export control regimes, starting with the NSG and the MTCR, and the United Nations Security Council reform," said Swarup.
Apart from that, there was bilateral content in all the three conversations which the Prime Minister had."The basic point that the Prime Minister made (relating to climate change) was that India`s commitment to environmental conservation is second to none. We are prepared to play a leadership role on the subject," he said.
"As far as our INDCs are concerned, the PM said that we had sought permission to declare our INDCs on October 2. The deadline is October 1. But the date has a special significance for all of us, as it is the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi," he added.
Swarup further said all three leaders appreciated that India will be declaring its INDCs and combining it with the observance of Mahatma Gandhi`s birth anniversary.The Prime Minister also discussed his vision for India of adding 175 GW of renewable energy by 2022.
