Neemuch: A woman was allegedly raped by three men in the district after giving her lift while she was on her way to Modhi Mata, police said today.
The 23-year-old victim told the police that Shambulal Dhakad, one of the culprits, was an acquaintance and he offered her lift in a pick-up vehicle when she was on her way from Jamunia Kalan to Modhi Mata last evening to deliver food to her ailing mother.
However, Dhakad and the two unidentified men who were with him took her to a nearby forest where they raped her, city superintendent of police Abhishek Diwan said.
The trio dumped her on the road later. She managed to reach a police station here and lodged the complaint.
Police have filed a case of rape and criminal conspiracy under the Indian Penal Code against Dhakad and the two unidentified men who are yet to be traced.
