Bengaluru: A blockbuster wedding of mining baron and former minister Gali Janardhan Reddy's daughter marked by unmitigated opulence took place at the sprawling Palace Grounds on Wednesday.
Reddy's daughter Brahmani was thrown a five-day extravaganza which cost an estimated 5 billion rupee (£59m), according to Indian media reports.
The wedding has created a political storm due to cost and timing of the event, in the wake of demonetisation move announced by the central government recently.
The wedding reportedly involved gold-plated invitations sent to guests and performances by Bollywood celebs.
