Shocking: Maoist cadre reveals how women are exploited sexually by commanders

Jamshedpur: A Maoist cadre who recently surrendered to the police in Jharkhand after escaping from the clutches of her tormentors in the organisation revealed that the women are often subjected to rape and other forms of exploitation by their superiors.

Seventeen-year-old Sangeeta, who fled from her camp along with her lover, also a Maoist cadre, said that all the women in the organisation were sexually exploited by their bosses.

Senior leaders in the organisation want to establish “immoral relationship” with the women cadres, she revealed. She also said that her duty was to clean the utensils.

Both she and her lover Tue Tudu, 22, have accused their organisation of oppressing the poor.

Both had lived in the forest for more than a year and now they plan to get married within a week.

They said that they are afraid as they may be targeted by the group.

Both had been working for the Maoists' Gudhabanda squad.

Even Tue Due has complained of sexually exploitation.

He alleged that his commander Fogdha Munda wanted to form a sexual relationship with him.
