Delhi: More than 25 years after Osho, also known as 'Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh' died 'mysteriously' on 19 January 1990, some of his followers still suspect that he was poisoned by his confidants with an eye on his riches.
After his death, his confidants are said to have taken up the reins of his vast global empire which was possible because of a will.
As per The Quint, the will has now been challenged legally by Yogesh Thakkar, a Pune-based disciple of Osho.
Thakkar was quoted by the media house as saying that the will was fake and that the foreigner confidants are “smuggling and siphoning off Indian spiritual treasure”.
He has also said that over Rs 100 crore have been illegally transferred from Osho International Foundation to Osho Multimedia & Resorts Pvt Ltd.
The former is a public charitable trust and the latter is a private company.
Thakkar's petition in Bombay High Court also attaches an affidavit by Dr Gokul Gokani.
The doctor was said to be present inside the Pune ashram when Osho breathed his last and wrote Osho's death certificate.
As per the report, Dr Gokani has suspected foul play in the last four hours of Osho's death.
