New Delhi: In a significant step, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has asked all the affiliated schools to put the details of the fee structure and the facilities provided by them on their website.
The CBSE has directed the schools to comply with its order by October 31.
The Board has issued the circular saying that the parents and the students should be aware of the facilities that would be provided by the respective school administrations.
The step comes after the Board received complaints from the parents about exorbitant fees charged by some schools.
According to a survey, as many as 81 percent of the citizens want a regulatory body to monitor school fee hikes by the CBSE as well as the state boards.
According to the survey conducted by LocalCircles, a social networking site, the respondents believe that the regulatory body should also look at the quality of education and course material developed by the schools.
As many as 84 per cent to 87 per cent also said that a fee hike in school was a matter of great concern.
