Patna: Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad had taken a jibe at the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS), which recently changed its dress code.
According to reports, the RJD chief said a jibe made by his wife and former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi had actually prompted the the right-wing Hindu body to change its uniform from trademark khaki shorts to brown trousers.
In a speech on January 17, Rabri Devi had said, "What sort of organisation is this in which even old people wear knickers? Aren't they ashamed of wearing half-pants in public?"
"One remark by Rabri Deviji has forced RSS to go from half-pants to trousers," Lalu had tweeted on Monday, a day after he said he would make RSS return to their 90-year-old dress code.
"RSS has updated itself because it is in power now. But we will again make them return to half-pants," he had said a day ago.
